You may also limit the number of people depending on the size of your home, condo or apartment. House parties are the best way to get to know the people at Single Place, as well as being lots of fun for everyone. Please consider helping us, regardless of the size of your home. Single Place WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY

If it becomes necessary this winter to close First Presbyterian Church, thus canceling Single Place, we will do our best to announce the cancellation on local radio stations. However, there is no guarantee our closing will be announced. Therefore, it is recommended that you call First Presbyterian Church, 248-349-0911, before leaving home or work. Decisions should be made by 4pm in the afternoon.

begin at 9:30am every Sunday morning.

Adult Bible Study at 10:30am

All are welcome to attend.

 

Thursday, July 2

Single Place. Serving begins @ 7pm. Cookout. We cook outside, but eat inside. The menu will be hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill, as well as chips & potato salad. Cost is $10 per person, whether or not you bring a dish to share.  If, however, you do choose to donate a dish, bring only enough to serve 8 persons to avoid so much left over food. Also remember to take any of your dishes of left over food home with you. Please sign up so we know how much food to prepare. (Or call Nancy @ 734-459-7235).

 

Saturday, July 4

12 NOON to 4pm ONLY. House Party at Bea’s home in Ann Arbor. Maps provided at Single Place. Meat will be cooking on the grill. You are asked to please bring a dish of ‘picnic food’ to share. We plan to eat around 1pm. Call Nancy M. if you have any questions, or get lost on the way. 734-459-7235. $5 if you bring a dish to share or $10 if coming empty handed.

 

Wednesday, July 8

6:30pm Dining Out. Meet at the Bay Side Sports Grill, 142 E. Walled Lake Drive (Between 14 Mile & Maple) 248-669-3322. Reservations are requested, so call Grace to make yours: 734-464-4029. This restaurant is right at the water’s edge so this will be a very pleasant evening.

 

Thursday, July 9

7pm Single Place. Tonight is an ‘appetizer potluck’. You may bring your favorite type of appetizer to share while we watch an informative video from the Better Business Bureau on ‘Investement Fraud’. It is very easy to be a victim if fraud if you do not know what things to be aware of to help prevent it. Come tonight to learn what to do & what NOT do to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud. $5 donation please.

 

Saturday, July 11

10am to car pool to the DIA. (Detroit Institute of Arts). Car pool will leave from the Meijer’s parking lot at Middlebelt & Plymouth Road (Garden Center entrance) Lunch & dinner locations will be determined by the group. If at least 10 people sign up early enough, we can prearrange to enjoy the complementary refreshments provided by the DIA. Sign up sheets are at Single Place or you may call Connie @ 248-459-0701.

7:15pm Single Place. Cards & Games night again. Some snacks are furnished, but feel free to bring more. Soft drinks are also provided. $5 donation please.

Note date change. 7pm Single Place. This is our annual Summer Auction. This is open to the public, so bring your friends. Everyone has ‘stuff’ they no longer want, need or like. Bring it to Single Place (by 6:30 if possible) to help with our semi-annual fundraiser. PLEASE- NO CLOTHES OR BOOKS. We welcome baked goods, craft projects & needlework also. Gather up your things to help support our (your) group. All items must be clean, in working condition & useful. This is lots of fun & a cheap way to exchange your dust collectors for someone else’s. No admission tonight & snacks & soft drinks are provided for your pleasure. Cash or checks only please.

12 noon – 5pm Day at Dave’s cottage near Kingsville, Ontario, Canada.

Bring a dish to pass, your beverage of choice, and any snacks you like. Be prepared to just relax & enjoy a day at the cottage right on the shores of Lake Erie. Thursday, July 30

7pm Single Place. Join us to learn more about your brain as we hear what Wayne State University’s Dept. of Gerontology calls “Brain Neurobics”. Two presenters will discuss many different ways to help delay the aging effects on the brain. These involve all the senses, diet, exercises for the brain, as well as many simple mind games we can do to increase & prolong our brain function, especially as we age. This is an evening you won’t regret attending- guaranteed. Ice cream follows. $5 donation please.
