SINGLE PLACE PROGRAMMING & ACTIVITIES

NOTICE: It has come to our attention that some people are wearing an excessive amount of fragrances (after-shave, perfume, etc) to Single Place meetings and events. Some people are very sensitive or allergic to these aromas and are made physically ill from being near anyone wearing them. Also keep in mind that the chemical properties of older fragrances change over time and become much stronger and more offensive and hazardous to those with chemical allergies. So if you are one of these persons who indulge, please be considerate of others and use fragrances VERY sparingly or not at all. Thank you from all those effected by these fragrances.

Thirty Minutes Changed Forever Pesented by Julie M. Frawley

Julie Frawley, who has written a book, Thirty Minutes, is one woman’s search for answers after surviving a vicious assault in her own home here in Michigan. Julie will talk about being a victim to survivor and the years of healing that grew from her assault. Her story is an uplifting and healing, one from which all people will benefit. Ms. Frawley has the ability and experience to explain to others what she has gone through in the past 20 years. She has found the ability to forgive and can show others the power of forgiveness. Julie Frawley continues to offer insight to other victims of sexual assault. Ms. Frawley is an accomplished speaker, having received the Phoenix Award in 2009 from HAVEN. She has spoken on Public TV and radio, HEAVEN’S C.O.R.E. meetings and staff meetings, police departments, churches and universities.

Father John Ricardo, pastor, Our Lady of Good Counsel of Plymouth writes: “ While the subject matter is disturbing, I couldn’t put the book down! Julie M. Frawley gives us a privileged glimpse inside the mind and heart of a person who has undergone trauma and is wrestling with those questions that we all feel when evil happens. But the end result is - another privileged glimpse into a person who has been forever changed by the transforming power of forgiveness.”

Beth Morrison, President of HAVEN in Pontiac writes. “Julie does an exceptional job in sharing her personal story of victimization and her triumph in overcoming the trauma of sexual assault. I have witnessed her ability to move an audience to tears yet to leave them feeling inspired and hopeful. Julie’s unassuming style and her unselfish sharing of such a personal journey has motivated many people to feel empowered to create change. Twenty three years ago, Julie Frawley became the victim of vicious (sexual) assault that left her angry, confused and searching for answers. She writes about her recovery and her struggle to forgive. Julie resides in Troy with her husband and three children.

Julie is a Stephen Minister and a Stephen leader in her parish.

Read Any Good Faces Lately? with Lin Klaassen

What relationships do you have that depend primarily on face-to-face interaction? All of the important ones and many casual ones. Whether it’s a friend, child, boss, co-worker or client, the quality of the relationship depends on how well we understand them and they us. And how well we understand them depends on what we’ve learned about their personality, attitudes and behavior and how they interact with ours. Join us for a fascinating evening of FACE READING that will educate and entertain you...all at the same time. (Bring a mirror for your personal observations.)

Lin Klaassen is internationally recognized as one of the leading Face Readers of our time. Setting precedents has become characteristic no matter what area of life she is applying face reading to, be it corporate training, lectures, workshops, trial consulting, life coaching or individual readings. Perhaps you have seen Lin on Fox TV or CBC Canada.

An Inspiring Account of Rising Above Disabilities & Challenges with Marty & Jordan Levin

There are confusing individual choices to make: the usual minefield of relationships, financial uncertainty and other challenges of the real world. Imagine how difficult it would be for those living with disabilities such as needing a wheelchair, being blind or deaf. Author Martin J. Levin shares with readers an inspiring and stirring account of his son’s struggles and triumphs in WE WERE RELENTLESS: A Family Journey to Overcome Disability.

Jordan Levin’s life started out as a perilous and suspenseful adventure of his parents. Born three months premature, he was so small that he weighed 31 ounces - with tiny hands the size of a man fingernail. He had a series of operations to correct conditions that threatened his grip on life. But hang on he did. And when it seemed that everyone would turn out fine, Jordan was diagnosed as being profoundly deaf - he could hear sounds with frequencies below a certain threshold, but above that he was at a loss.

Amazingly, even before the diagnosis, young Jordan had the uncanny and innate ability to lip-read. So, with the courage and foresight of his parents who were determined to raise him as normally as possible, he learned how to speak, graduated with a B.A. from Michigan State University and grew up to become a successful and confident young man.

Later, he would embark on a career as a motivational speaker and personal trainer. More than a fascinating story of a person’s triumph over disability, WE WERE RELENTLESS: A Family’s Journey to Overcome Disability is also a touching account about a father’s and mother’s love for their son - and how they encouraged him every step of the way to be all that he could be.

Contentment is a choice. Finding contentment comes from learning to appreciate the blessings you have received, not dwelling on what you feel is lacking in your life. It is a matter of perspective, attitude, and faith. Tonight Tiffany will concentrate on learning  how to focus on what we have received, how to use our abundance to help others, slowing down the pace of our lives, and finding joy in the daily rhythm of life.

Tiffany Liguori is an inspirational speaker, wife and mother of four children and founder of Intended Life Today, a website and ministry focusing on living the life that God has purposed you to live. She is currently working on a book titled, An Intended Life.
