Single Place WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY If it becomes necessary this winter to close First Presbyterian Church, thus canceling Single Place, we will do our best to announce the cancellation on local radio stations. However, there is no guarantee our closing will be announced. Therefore, it is recommended that you call First Presbyterian Church, 248-349-0911, before leaving home or work. Decisions should be made by 4pm in the afternoon.
SINGLE PLACE PROGRAMMING & ACTIVITIES
Thurs., Sept. 2 Single Place 7:00 - 9:15pm, Boll Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, Northville. Picnic and Sing-A-Long Concert
Join us for a picnic and sing-a-long concert on the back lawn of the church, SE corner of the building. BBQ Pork sandwiches with additional side dishes will be served at 7pm. After dinner, Mr. Bob Allwine, former Single Place member, will be singing a mix of old favorites and taking requests for your favorites. Song sheets will be provided, so please join in the fun. Cost is $5 for dinner and $5 for the concert. Please sign up or call the church office if you care to join us for dinner, 248-349-0911.
Sat., Sept. 4 8-12pm Bethany West Dance at St. Robert Bellermine Church, 27201 W. Chicago, Redford, corner of W. Chicago and Inkster Rd. Cost is $10 which covers DJ and refreshments. Mon., Sept. 6 4pm Labor Day House Party at Bea’s beautiful home in Ann Arbor. As usual, you are asked to bring a dish of real food to pass plus $5 or $10 if coming empty handed. You should also bring a lawn chair to enjoy the great outdoors from her deck. Maps are provided at Single Place. Please sign up or call Bea if you plan to attend, 734-255-5998.
Wed., Sept. 8 6:30pm Dining Out. Meet at the Guilio’s Italian Restaurant, 31735 Plymouth Rd., Livonia. Reservations are mandatory and are easily made by calling Grace at 734-464-4029. Join us - it is always better to eat with friends than to eat alone. Cost on your own.
Thurs., Sept. 9 Single Place 7:30 - 9:30pm, Boll Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, Northville. How to Handle Awkward Circumstances & Difficult People with Mr. Tom Bruno Tonight, Mr. Tom Bruno will be speaking on “How to Handle Awkward Circumstances and Difficult People.” Mr. Bruno is a Psychologist with offices in Sterling Heights and Troy. He has written several books and has appeared on local radio and television, as well as lectured throughout Southeastern Michigan. $5 donation.
Sat., Sept. 11 2pm Victorian Days in Downtown Northville Meet in front of First Presbyterian Church to walk around the streets to view the many wonderful arts and crafts. Have dinner at any of the food tents or area restaurants of your choice. Sun., Sept. 12 11:00am Worship, First Presbyterian Church, Northville

Thurs., Sept. 16 Single Place 7:30 - 9:30pm, Boll Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, Northville with Northville Police Dept. The Northville Police Dept. will provide an officer to give us an update on safety and security in our own homes, on the computer, on cell phones, in our cars, etc. Sometimes it seems the bad guys are getting smarter than we are, so come learn how to better protect yourself and maintain your privacy when using electronics. $5 donation.
Sat., Sept. 18 2pm Oktoberfest in Frankenmuth. (Yes, the REAL Oktoberfest in Germany is held in Sept.) Meet at Starbuck’s at 2pm to car pool to Frankenmuth for the festivities and food. As usual, all riders will reimburse the drivers for their gas. Please sign up or call Nancy at 734-459-7235 if you can go with us. Other card and board games will be available if you prefer. Euchre is easy to learn so why not join in the fun. Refreshments will also be provided this evening. $5 donation.

Thurs., Sept. 30 Single Place 7:00 - 9:30pm, Boll Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, Northville Picnic and Concert Picnic and Concert on the back lawn of the church, South East corner of the building. Hamburgers, brats and other picnic food will be served at 7pm. Concert follows. Tonight, Mr. Rennie Kaufmann will entertain us with music from Broadway, Motown, the Classics and more. Rennie is Minister of Music at the Living Word Church in Plymouth. His vocal talents and keyboard have been featured in the Entertainment Section of the Detroit Free Press. The cost is $5 for the dinner and $5 for the concert. |
